John Chambers passed this information on to me, and others. with the comment that where people eat might be viewed as a part of the bigger ethical eating picture, complementing the issue of what people eat and whence it comes to table.

Hi, Vicky, and greetings from south central PA. I lived in Madison 1997-2000 and (mostly) attended First UU. Mad City is a great place. It wasn't easy being a vegetarian in WI, especially when I went to restaurants outside of town. I'm still not "pure" and find that what we eat is probably the most emotionally laden topic of all for UUs here--we are working slowly on environmental issues and hoping that people's food habits can slowly evolve. Ciao (or chow!) Karen
Me, too! How are you involved in this project?
Thanks, Vicky. I'm looking forward to being more involved with the EE initiative. There are so many directions to pursue under the EE umbrella. Tomorrow evening I'm presenting EE individual and congregational recommendations to our Environmental Leadership Team (Green Sanctuary) of which I'm a member. I am hopeful that we will begin to move church events towards including more plant-strong and local foods and begin to offer more educational programs. I think support is growing. Looking forward to working with you too! I love this website!
